Introduction to evidence-based practice lessons

Welcome to the Nursing Research Alliance of the Capital District educational program on evidence-based practice. We are very happy and excited that you have chosen to take this journey with us. Our goal in developing this educational program was to improve the nursing care provided in the Capital District health care system through the use of evidence based practice.

As an introduction to this educational program we want you to know that there are twelve (12) lessons. Each lesson takes appropriately an hour. Each lesson has objectives, content based on the objectives, activities to be completed with a mentor and an evaluation form. In addition there are links to other lessons and websites as well as to the glossary. You will see the following icon when you are to work with a mentor.

An important point for you to remember is that these lessons were not designed to be done at one time but individually over a length of time. These lessons are meant to help you in making a clinical practice change.  You need to remember that you are on a journey and it must be taken one step at a time.

There are brief evaluation forms at the end of the lessons for you to fill out. Please feel free to give us feedback, suggestions for improvement or to ask questions on the evaluation forms.  We would greatly value this and want to hear from you.
